Nicolas Barrera Rios started off his career at a Swedish IT company, Axis Communications. Later, Nicolas Barrera Rios held the position of CEO/President in Ingenium Media which specializes in producing and marketing innovative TV formats in Latin America. The company had offices in Mexico City and Buenos Aires, with around 15 staff producing a well acclaimed show called Desafio de los Andes which is an extreme sports event.  In this event, the teams have to make it from Argentina to Chile, crossing the Andes Mountain, by different means in merely one week. Thus, investing more than 15 years in the telecommunications and IT has gained Nicolas Barrera Rios immense experience in the industry.

Barrera Rios got married on 23 March, 2000 to Palaschka Parchomenko. Nicolas married in Coral Gables, Miami, US. He is the proud father of 3 girls, Giovanna Barrera (9), Angelina Barrera (6) and Carolina Barrera (2).

Nicolas Barrera graduated as a black belt holder in Taekwondo from the DenKen Taekwondo School in Lund Sweden. Ken Hultqvist and Dennis Johnsson were his trainers. Nicolas Rios will be forever indebted to his both mentors for training him to perfection. They taught him discipline, control and perseverance to master in the skills. Nicolas trained Taekwondo for 12 years. During this time also competed as well as acted as trainer for younger students.

Nicoals grew up and studied in Lund. He went to school at Fagelskolan for his basic education. Nicolas Barrera Rios did his high school at Katedralskolan and obtained a business degree from the Lund School of Business and Economics.
Nicolas Barrera Rios is an investor and co-owner of www.crewskills.com which is a school that trains people to work on cruise ships.

It offers access to their network and people they know within mobile operators. It helps preparing offers and proposals, assist companies in getting deals and give general advice on how to do business in the region.

In 2002 Nicolas Barrera Rios established a company called CCM together with his partners. He was the CEO and President of CCM which provided mobile content in Mexico, specialized in supplying subscribers with ringtones, wallpapers, SMS content, TV voting, etc through Premium SMS. This was one of his most successful ventures and in 2005, the company was sold to Itouch Movilisto. During that time Itouch Movilito was the largest mobile content company in the world. After the sale of CCM to Itouch Movilisto, Nicolas Barrera Rios served as Business Development Director for the company in Latin America for two years.

In 2010 Barrera Rios founded Convey Communications (www.conveycomms.com) which is a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) in the US, Mexico and soon expanding into Brazil. He currently is the President for the company, with responsibility for the Latin American markets.
In 2011, 14Biz Holdings was founded where Barrera Rios held the position of CEO and President. 14Biz Holdings is a company specialized in developing tailor made Smartphone applications. Here, applications were produced based on the specifications provided by the customers.
